We place a high premium on the recruitment and retention of a high quality staff. We employ four general categories of staff:  (a) professionally educated and licensed (in Massachusetts) clinicians of all mental health/substance abuse disciplines with appropriate clinical experience;  (b) program managers who are licensed clinicians with appropriate supervisory and/or administrative experience; (c) paraprofessional staff with undergraduate education and/or appropriate life experience to provide direct care in outreach, residential and day/rehabilitation settings; (d) support staff with appropriate technical training and experience.

Most MHSAB employees are salaried and are compensated according to the appropriate category of the MHSAB Salary Structure, based on job description, level of responsibility, level of education and licensure, and years of experience. Employees at all levels are provided with varied promotional opportunities and benefit from an active staff development program and a rich array of in-service training opportunities. MHSAB strives to develop and maintain a staff that is as diverse as its clientele and the communities that it serves.
