Jim has worked at the Brien Center for 33 years in various capacities including Child Adolescent Clinician, Program Coordinator, Program Director and Division Director. Jim also maintains a small Private Practice focusing on Child and Adolescent mental health treatment. Prior to the Brien Center, Jim was the clinical director at ValleyHead a private residential treatment center in Lenox, Ma.

Jim is skilled in direct clinical care with youth and families, managing outpatient, day, and residential programs. In his various capacities at the Brien Center, he wrote contracts and developed programs in the Division including: Child Adolescent Outpatient; opening and developing the Child Crisis Stabilization Unit (CBAT/ICBAT); Therapeutic Day Services; Merging Berkshire Mental Health and Northern Berkshire Mental Health; opening and developing Berkshire County Community Service Agency; The Continuum; opening Pre-IL Group Home; youth substance use prevention and treatment programs and developing all the CBHI programs.

In direct clinical care, Jim has expertise in Family Therapy, Trauma, Substance Use Disorders with Adolescents, Child Therapy, Mood Disorders, and Behavioral Disorders including ODD and ADHD. Jim has trained and supervised hundreds of clinicians over the past 35 years of practice. In addition to Private Practice, Jim provides consultation to agencies serving SED youth.
