Meri-Ellen Morgans
Division Director, Clinical Social Worker and Adjunct Field Instructor

Meri-Ellen Morgans is a seasoned clinical social worker and administrator with over three decades of experience in community mental health services. She currently serves as Division Director of the Adult Community Clinical Supports (ACCS) Program, where she provides administrative and clinical oversight for recovery-focused programs supporting adults with mental health needs. In this role, she leads multidisciplinary teams, oversees risk management, and collaborates with key stakeholders such as the Department of Mental Health and Berkshire Medical Center.
In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Meri-Ellen serves as a per diem Medical Social Worker with HospiceCare of the Berkshires, where she provides end-of-life information to patients and families and facilitates bereavement groups during the holiday season. Her compassionate approach helps individuals, and their loved ones navigate the emotional complexities of hospice care.
Meri-Ellen is deeply committed to mentoring future social workers. She has served as an Adjunct Field Instructor for several prestigious institutions, including SUNY Albany, Boston College, Simmons College, Smith College, Westfield State University, Boston University, and the University of New England.
Throughout her career, she has held progressive roles including Assistant Division Director, Program Director, Program Manager, and Program Supervisor. She also served as Interim Division Director of Community Services, overseeing multiple programs and preparing for critical agency reviews. Her early career included providing individual and group therapy for clients with chronic mental illness, as well as serving as an instructor for the Driver Alcohol Education Program.
Meri-Ellen holds a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Science from Pace University. She is passionate about ethical practice, clinical supervision, and fostering recovery-oriented care across all levels of service delivery.
