DEIB Statement

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)

Together, We Are Brien

At The Brien Center, we believe that fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is not only essential for our success but is a moral imperative that reflects our commitment to serving our community with integrity and empathy. We recognize that our strength lies in the unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our team members. Therefore, we are dedicated to creating an environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best.

Our commitment to DEIB extends to our hiring practices, client care, and community engagement efforts. We actively seek to recruit and retain a diverse team of mental health professionals who bring unique perspectives and experiences to our organization. Through ongoing training and education, we focus on building our staffs’ cultural competency so that they may be equipped to provide compassionate and effective care to individuals from all backgrounds.

We recognize that systemic barriers exist that impact access to mental health services, and we are dedicated to promoting equity in our service delivery. We strive to reduce disparities in mental health outcomes by addressing social determinants of health and advocating for policies that promote health equity.

In our interactions with clients, we prioritize inclusivity and respect for each person’s unique identity and journey. We are committed to fostering a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe to express themselves authentically and receive personalized care that meets their needs.

Through our DEIB initiatives, we aim to create a culture of belonging where every individual feels empowered to contribute to and benefit from our behavioral health services. We embrace continuous learning and improvement in our DEIB efforts as we work towards creating a more just and equitable society.

Together, we can create a workplace and a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
